We had a packed house at our 40th year celebration. The parking lot was full of T’s, and lot’s of folks wore era clothes. Some folks came from as far away as Grass Valley. We had 10 past presidents in attendance including our first president, We had 4 charter members, and lots of long time members. We had a slide show, videos of the Calistoga speedster races, and old time music. Folks brought in lots of club artifacts and history to look at. We had a BBQ dinner from Armadillo Willys and 40th anniversary cake. Entertainment highlight was a reenactment of an old time radio broadcast. Our cast of characters did an original Lone Ranger script complete with sound effects and music. It was hilarious and the crowd loved seeing the cast scramble for the microphone and the sound devices. I think everybody had a good time, maybe we should do it again next year.Bob Meneely |
