November 14, 2009: Thirteen cars (5 Ts, 4 As,
one 28 Chevy, 3 moderns) and 25 people showed up at Rancho
Shopping Center in Los Altos for the poker run. Remember it
got postponed from earlier in the year because of rain? Do poker
runs have some effect on the weather? Should we be sharing this
information or renting out our Ts to drought stricken areas?
Well, anyway, this time it was overcast and looked a little
threatening, and eventually did some drizzling on us, but the
group took it in stride, these Model T folk are tough.
Our route looped us around through Sunnyvale, Cupertino and Los
Altos. We collected our cards at various stops along the way
and ended up at Meneelys for soup, sandwiches and dessert. It
must be mentioned that at least one car tried to disguise themselves
and drive through a card stop twice, thus garnering better cards,
but our alert dealers were on to this gambit. Mary Beaman did
a great job setting this tour up, good route, good prizes, even
candy along with your cards. It was mentioned that no ice cream
was found, but,,,,, that just means double ice cream next time.
Im in for that.
