Wings of History Open House
May 2009

The annual Wings of History Open House took place on Saturday, May 16. It was a clear beautiful warm day in San Martin. OK, it was hot, but at least it did not rain. Sixteen cars left from Blossom Hill and Almaden Expressway in San Jose for the back roads tour through Morgan Hill to San Martin. No problems were reported on the drive down and we arrived at the museum at 10:00 am. Of those sixteen, there were 14 Model T's, and 2 Model As. At the museum another Model T and Model A from the area joined us. Soon after we arrived at the museum, everyone headed in different directions, some going to the museum buildings, some going to see all the aircraft parked on the tarmac and some (there are always some) headed to the food line. The day was spent viewing everything to see at this event, along with renewing old acquaintances. There were a few "Fly-Overs" that got our attention, and again this year there was an abundance of antique planes parked for people to enjoy. Our Club has enjoyed this event for many years and we expect to continue going to the Open House for many more years to come.
