Students attached the new flywheel and magnets, obtained
from Bill Bratt, to the speedster engine. They then checked for
the proper clearance between the magneto coils and the magnets.
They also checked the transmission shaft for concentricity with
a dial indicator and found the shaft within 0.002". Good
start. Another group began to assemble a transmission for the
knowledge and skills.

Congratulations to the Meneeley's, Beaman's, Christensen's
and Nadine Camicia for receiving a "Certificates of Appreciation"
for their work with the Auto Tech students on the Speedster project.
The recognition came from the Gunn High School Parent-Teacher-Student
Association at their Recognition and Awards Luncheon on Thursday
May 24th, 2007.
